Who We Are
Since 1998
The National Walking Horse Association is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit charitable corporation founded to provide a safe and fair showing environment for the Tennessee Walking Horse.
Our Mission
- Promote and increase public awareness of the true and inherent abilities of the Walking Horse.
- Provide an equitable event affiliation program for Walking Horses, Spotted Saddle Horses and Racking Horses to be exhibited, judged and showcased in full compliance with the Horse Protection Act (HPA).
What We Do
- As a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) certified Horse Industry Organization (HIO), we specialize in providing Designated Qualified Persons (DQPs) through an in-house certification program to insure HPA compliant events.
- Affiliate or Sanction events such as horse shows, clinics, expositions, trail rides, obstacle challenges and more.
Who We Are
We are a proud and dedicated organization, committed to showcasing the naturally-gaited Walking Horse at its very best. Through public awareness and promotion of the general welfare of the Tennessee Walking Horse, the NWHA serves as an advocate as well as a communication hub for the Walking Horse industry.
