Sound Principles ~ Sound Horses
Enjoying bridle paths throughout the country and abroad, NWHA supports charitable and humanitarian efforts while promoting equestrian trail activities. Earn program awards for riding your horse out on the trails or competing in trail challenge events.
CHIP is designed for members who compete in any type of competitive trail event such as competitive trail rides, stadium trail obstacle events or endurance rides. Horses enrolled in the CHIP Program can earn miles while competing at events. Each year the NWHA awards the CHIP's highest honor for the most miles accrued in the competition year to the horse with the most miles. A beautiful custom award buckle is presented annually to the:
Competitive Trail Horse of the Year
NWHA sanctioned endurance or competitive trail events will count double the actual amount of miles covered.
Would you rather spend a day on the trails? Then the TRIP trail program may be for you! TRIP is open to all NWHA members and any gaited horse owned by a member of NWHA. Riders and horses accrue hours on the trails and have the opportunity to earn year end awards for enjoying their horse and the great outdoors.
TRIP annual award categories:
High Hour Adult Rider
High Hour Horse
High Hour Youth Rider
High Hour American Field Trials
Double hours can be earned at NWHA sanctioned trail rides and Best of America By Horseback (BOABH) designated rides/events!
